<p>I don&#8217;t really like the term <em>guru</em>, they&#8217;re just ordinary people like you and me. No disrespect or anything, but everyone is 99.999% the same, so stop putting glass walls between yourself and the people you look up to! Sure someone may have much greater knowledge, experience and connections than you (especially if you&#8217;re just starting out), but looking up to guru&#8217;s as gods is not cool. Except for a few ego maniacs, the majority of &#8216;gurus&#8217; would actually <em>prefer</em> you talk to them as equals.</p>
<p>Successful entrepreneurs are happy help others, but when you talk to them like they&#8217;re just so amazing and sooo much better than you that displays neediness and is very unattractive because it&#8217;s like you&#8217;re <em>sucking</em> value from them. If you want people to take you seriously, especially people who are <em>already</em> successful &#8211; talk to them like an equal, with respect of course.</p>

After we finished shooting the first scene, James &amp; Brenton headed off to the next location (Westin Hotel) whilst me and our camera man went the other way to get my car. After 15 minutes of walking we realized we both forgot where I parked the car. Fuck. Not only was James &amp; Brenton waiting for me at the hotel lobby, I had already parked longer than possible and was at risk of getting an extravagant city parking fine. So now me and my camera man are literally running around the city looking for my car. Finally found it after 1 hour!</p>
<p>By the time we got to the Westin hotel, Wacko was sitting there alone as Brenton had left to go to the football game that afternoon to see his Carlton team get smashed! Missing an integral person for our video, me and Wacko decided to just film something of pure value that we can give to you. We agreed to film the <a href="http://affiliates.getaltitude.com/z/102/CD744/">Guru Blueprint</a> promo video another time when all three of us were together. So whilst me and Wacko are discussing the topic for today&#8217;s agenda, Wacko suddenly shouts &#8220;Hey it&#8217;s that webinar guy!&#8221; I turn around and I see <a href="http://www.facebook.com/StevenEssa">Steven Essa</a> walking out the front door. I instinctively jumped up and shouted out to him. I told him about what we were doing and he happily agreed to help us out by sharing some tips. Wasn&#8217;t able to get a test drive today, but got a better feeling of what&#8217;s it&#8217;s like to have an exotic super car in your life&#8230; and it&#8217;s not that big a deal.</p>
<p>My values and priorities have FINALLY evolved whereby I reckon getting a Porsche at 21 would be pretty cool, but there are A LOT cooler things I could do. eg. Go traveling.</p>
<p>Because I&#8217;ve firmly ingrained &#8216;NEVER GIVE UP!&#8217; into my attitude I held onto the Porsche at 21 goal for a very long time thinking if I drop it then I&#8217;m giving up. But the fact is, I&#8217;ve finally matured and have been able to drop the whole ego thing around having a Porsche because that&#8217;s the symbol that will confirm to me that <em>I&#8217;ve made it.</em></p>
<p>Not saying it&#8217;s impossible for me to get a Porsche 911 Turbo within 8 months, but not as high on the priority list as it used to be.</p>

<p>It took just over 2 years until I got some sense slapped into me and realized Internet Marketing isn&#8217;t a business in itself, it&#8217;s simply a tool.</p>
<p>So many people learn affiliate marketing, SEO, PPC, social media tactics, forum marketing, product launch tactics, autoresponders, etc and THINK they have an <em>Internet Marketing business</em>&#8230; NO. That is not a business, it&#8217;s simply a bunch of tools.</p>
<p>If you have an actual product or service where you give your customer some sort of value they can&#8217;t really get anywhere else, THAT&#8217;S a business &#8211; and THEN you use IM tactics to get more and better customers through your door. So what I&#8217;m saying is before you worry about learning SEO, PPC, affiliate marketing, email marketing and all that, <strong>create a unique product or service</strong> (online or offline).</p>

<p>After watching Frank&#8217;s latest video, a MASSIVE light bulb went off inside my head (thanks mate!) when he said something along the lines of &#8220;Focus on what works and multiply it &#8211; don&#8217;t worry about what doesn&#8217;t work&#8221;.</p>
<p>This may seem simple enough, but what he says here is so unbelievably powerful it&#8217;s crazy! I can now see that this is one of the core reasons Frank enjoys the success he does. It&#8217;s clear in all his work that it&#8217;s never 100% perfect, but that&#8217;s because he doesn&#8217;t worry too much about the stuff that doesn&#8217;t work/doesn&#8217;t make much difference. He focuses on the stuff that DOES make a difference eg. Quality content, being entertaining, improving the relationship with his list, masterminding with other 7/8 figure/year entrepreneurs, outsourcing as much as possible, etc.<br />
Things he WOULDN&#8217;T focus on would be posting on forums all day, replying to general* customer service requests, doing technical html programming, editing videos, etc.</p>
<p>And now here&#8217;s the exciting stuff to focus on that brings about RESULTS&#8230; <strong>traffic generation!</strong> He would focus on generating massive traffic from PPC, content network, list mailouts, massive JV promotions, etc. He would NOT focus on writing squidoo articles for low competition phrases, posting on forums with a signature link to his website, twittering 20 times a day, etc.</p>
<p>The final (&amp; most important) distinction would be, when analyzing your results &#8211; don&#8217;t get too bogged down in what didn&#8217;t work and leave it alone to focus on what did work &#8211; AND then go improve those aspects and see if you can multiply/add more on somehow. This is the 80/20 rule being applied right now &#8211; FOCUS ON THE 20% OF THINGS THAT WORK and they will create 80% of your results.</p>
