How To FAIL Miserably In An Information Marketing Business – My Story.

Posted on 24. May, 2010 by Sasha in Entrepreneurship, Interviews, Mindset

This video interview is brought to you from a deluxe suite in the Westin Hotel thanks to Steven Essa for being so generous and me for being a TOTAL RETARD! Here’s the story… me, James Wacko Jackson and Brenton Ford were shooting some footage for Eben Pagan’s upcoming ‘Guru Blueprint‘ launch in the city. After we finished shooting the first scene, James & Brenton headed off to the next location (Westin Hotel) whilst me and our camera man went the other way to get my car. After 15 minutes of walking we realized we both forgot where I parked the car. Fuck. Not only was James & Brenton waiting for me at the hotel lobby, I had already parked longer than possible and was at risk of getting an extravagant city parking fine. So now me and my camera man are literally running around the city looking for my car. Finally found it after 1 hour!

By the time we got to the Westin hotel, Wacko was sitting there alone as Brenton had left to go to the football game that afternoon to see his Carlton team get smashed! Missing an integral person for our video, me and Wacko decided to just film something of pure value that we can give to you. We agreed to film the Guru Blueprint promo video another time when all three of us were together. So whilst me and Wacko are discussing the topic for today’s agenda, Wacko suddenly shouts “Hey it’s that webinar guy!” I turn around and I see Steven Essa walking out the front door. I instinctively jumped up and shouted out to him. I told him about what we were doing and he happily agreed to help us out by sharing some tips. For those that don’t know, Steven is one of the world’s leading experts when it comes to marketing through webinars. He was actually scheduled to speak at a seminar in a couple hours that day and as it turned out, we didn’t have time to get any footage with him (but if you look carefully, you’ll see him for 1 second in the video when he enters the room).

He did let us use his room to film the interview with me and Jacko, and it’s not really an interview, it’s just two guys chatting about their business experience over the past few years. I’ve NEVER shared my whole story publicly, but Wacko grilled me well and you’re going to learn about all my info product businesses FROM THE BEGINNING up to where I am now. Whether you’ve never made an info product before or you’ve made a couple, watching this video will help you avoid the DESTRUCTIVE mistakes I did and will literally save you thousands of dollars, hundreds of hours and A LOT of stress and disappointment.

This video is not pretty. It’s not about success. It’s about what actually happens when you take massive action consistently. This is the real deal folks – turn off your phone and just sit back for half an hour and watch the whole video. It’ll be worth every second.

*Whilst watching this video now, I can’t see the play bar once the video begins playing. To conquer this issue, simply double click on the video and it’ll go to full screen.

Loved this It’s the only video I have watched all the way through in months – maybe years :) Well apart from Airbourne vids on YouTube :)

Tough break there at the end! Had a similar thing happen recently with a website. Although easy to resell to competitor.

I think the lesson is that “non internet marketers” often have very different things going on in there head. So even if logically they should want to proceed it’s important to keep tabs on where there head is at.

Yeah absolutely Dan, they’re more concerned about having everything perfect so it doesn’t affect their reputation (which is important) over results.

The funny thing was, this guy was totally on board with getting some quick wins on the board over having everything perfect. However, when it came to crunch time his REAL feelings came through.

I could go on and blame how unfair this guy was and how we broke our agreement on and on, but in the end EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IN MY LIFE IS MY RESPONSIBILITY (good or bad).

One of my friends really drilled into me that I need to accept full responsibility and have no one to blame except myself. Had I done something differently, we could’ve had different results right now.

I should have judged his emotions better and responded in a way that made sense to him.

Anyway it’s been over a month since that happened and right now I’ve got an opportunity that’s much bigger than that. Had I stayed in that business, I wouldn’t have got into this better opportunity. So remember, there’s always something better around the corner!

Remember how I said this guy was a motivational speaker; he also wrote a self help book with lot’s of lovely 1 page positive tips.

Dealing with a person like that I thought he’d be the most trust worthy and highest integrity business partner possible so I felt comfortable going into business with with.

Anyway, the night he called me to say “we should go our separate ways…” I became soooo enraged I GRABBED his little self help book from my cupboard and TORE IT THE FUCK UP AND SLAMMED IT INTO MY RUBBISH BIN OUTSIDE!!

It’s a shame because it was actually a pretty good book.
